The climate crisis has many faces – but it affects us all

From wildfires in Fontainebleau, France, and drought in Austria, to devastating floods caused by heavy rainfalls in Togo and catastrophic glacial floods in Nepal, the year 2026 has once again shown that the climate crisis is not a distant threat. 

It is already reshaping communities, ecosystems, water resources and livelihoods around the world.

The climate crisis does not look the same everywhere. And while the impacts are global, the ability to cope with them is not. Communities and countries that have contributed least to global greenhouse gas emissions are often among those most vulnerable to its consequences.
