Exploring the natural treasures in the neighbourhood and experiencing exciting things about animals, plants and habitats and their endangerment that was the aim of the "Kids for Nature" project, which was implemented by Naturefriends International, Naturefriends Vorarlberg and a group of committed children. Together with an ecologist, the children explored the alluvial forest along the Bregenzer Ach and created a colourful brochure which informs about the characteristic animal and plant species and is intended to motivate visitors to behave in a nature-friendly way.

Three years later a similar project was carried out with a school class from Loosdorf in Lower Austria. This time, the focus was on the nature reserve along the Pielach river, which is highly appreciated as a recreation area by local people. Here too, the children designed a colourful brochure with lots of tips on how to behave without disturbing the beavers, kingfishers and the other animals of the river landscape.
