Climate crisis, impacts in Africa and international solidarity. Meeting with Mamadou Mbodji!
Vice-President of Naturefriends International and President of the African Naturefriends Network, Mamadou Mbodji is a leading figure in the fight for climate justice. Originally from Senegal, Mamadou has been working for decades to raise awareness among young Africans about the preservation of ecosystems. Through reforestation campaigns, particularly of mangroves and fruit species, he shows how to take local action to address global challenges.
During this evening event, he will address several key topics:
- The impacts of the global climate crisis, with a particular focus on the African continent;
- The differentiated responsibilities of countries in the North and South;
- The need for concerted action based on climate justice;
- And prospects for concrete action, particularly for younger generations.
This meeting promises to be a powerful moment of reflection and exchange, in an international context where calls for climate justice are becoming increasingly urgent. With COP30 approaching, it will highlight African voices, which are too often marginalised at major climate conferences, and remind us of the importance of global and intergenerational commitment.
