The NFI campaign "1 Euro for Climate Justice" invites all Naturefriends from wealthy countries to make a contribution to greater climate justice.

The XXV Congress of Naturefriends International demands from the wealthy states a stronger commitment to climate protection and climate justice! "Climate Justice for the Future" was the motto of the XXV Congress of Naturefriends International, which took place on 7 October in the Naturefriends Hotel in Spital am Pyhrn (Austria). 60 participants from 15 countries discussed the global effects of the climate crisis and adopted a catalogue of demands to the industrialised and emerging countries as well as concrete measures of Naturefriends for more climate justice.

After intensive preparation, the time has finally come: the official launch of the Naturefriends tree sponsorships in Senegal and The Gambia is just around the corner! Around 3,500 fruit trees are to be planted in the next few weeks with people living in six villages along the two countries' border region, which was awarded Naturefriends Landscape of the Year in 2018. They will then be given to families to care for.
Our diet has a significant impact on our ecological footprint. The food sector is responsible for more than a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions, with a large share attributed to animal products. With their climate delicacies, selected Naturefriends Houses and eco-labelled restaurants all over Austria are setting a good example by offering their guests vegetarian or vegan dishes with regional ingredients – according to the motto "Good for us, good for the planet!“.
September marks the birth of our movement back in 1895. Once again, this year we will embrace the motto "Nature and Solidarity" and try to communicate the diversity and international dimension of the Naturefriends movement, as well as find best practices and exchange experiences within the network.
